PROJECT DESCRIPTION // Permanent Exhibition, ACTION STATIONS! The Navy and South Australia

SCOPE // Exhibition design, production and project management

DETAILS // ACTION STATIONS! is a semi permanent exhbition exploring the role of the Navy in South Australian history and culture. Situated on the ground floor of the Bond Store in Lipson Street, Port Adelaide, Action Stations!! inhabits an awkward floor space that incorporates a staircase, heritage listed room (currently used as storage) and access doors to temporary exhibition space. The exhibition was presented in a chronological manner, requiring the floor plan and traffic flow to work with the chronological nature of the exhibition in order to effectively tell the story.

A large “replica” bow of the HMAS Adelaide was used to set the scene for the exhibition and shield the storage room from the immediate view of the visitor.
