PROJECT DESCRIPTION // Promotional material, 2007
Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition
SCOPE // Graphic Design
DETAILS // In keeping with the Helpmann Academy’s
tradition of spotlighting one outstanding artwork in their promotional
material, this years chosen artwork, Guy Bottroff’s sculpture “A
Model Family”, is the centrepiece around which all graphic elements
should revolve. In response to this, Arketype developed a visual style
drawing from 1950’s kitsch advertising, juxtaposing it with the
cold starkness of the imagery in order to reflect and enhance the themes
within the artwork. This style was applied to all promotional material,
with the format of the invitation and catalogue in particular, being
developed to further the impact of the graphical style, providing consistency
and strength to the public face of this year’s exhibition.
Development
of the 2007 graduation exhibition identity included the development
of invitations, posters, advertising material, flyers, catalogue
and banners.
